Friday 19th January, Salt Cafe, Merchants Road, Bristol, 8pm, £5. I have the pride and joy to open for the extraordinary Rock of Eye (ft. members of Spiro, Paper Cinema, Schmoozenbergs etc.) – gorgeous extemporisations on original and traditional English melodies.

Sunday 21st January, Tobacco Factory Bar, Raleigh Road, Bristol, 8pm, free: the Bradley Brothers – Mark on drums and I on guitar and blatherwarblings. Wholly spontaneous and A Proper Tiny Band!

Monday 12th February, Bell Inn, Walcot Street, Bath, 9pm, free. Klein Bart (ft. Neil Smith – This is the Kit, The Brackish; Kevin Byrne – Robado), Bristol’s first and best guitar orchestra shrinks to a trio for a rare exposition. Original tunes across twisted postrock, flamenco and abstract sentimentalism. And the Bell is always a Fable in itself.

Sunday 4th March, St George’s Bristol, 7.30pm, £17/£15 – Spiro, Leveret, Three Cane Whale.

Wednesday 7th March, Canteen, Stokes Croft, Bristol, 9.30pm, free in. Athea: Rare essay with the uncanny and transcendent force that is Emma Holbrook (drms etc.).
